Dilip Kumar was not just a name – he was a phenomenon. An icon in all its glory, his filmography reflects a superlative range of films that only went on to show what a terrific actor he was and the lasting impression he left behind.
Due to age-related issues and other health hazards, he passed away on July 7, 2021, at the age of 98. His absence will always be deeply felt by his fans and the film fraternity, however, his iconic films continue to inspire us. When it comes to Filmfare Awards, Dilip Kumar holds the record of winning the most number of trophies. Later on, that number was tied with none other than Shah Rukh Khan at number 8. Even Amitabh Bachchan has been inspired by Dilip Kumar and newcomers too continue to be in awe of his acting prowess.
Filmfare had the great privilege to host Dilip Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan for an iconic photo shoot, 9 years ago. To mark 100 years of Indian Cinema, it couldn’t have been a better trio to grace the cover and it turned out to be the most memorable experience.
The three superstars had the most effortless camaraderie between them as they posed for the camera. Laughing, chatting, and just being themselves that led to a lifetime-opportunity for us.
