Sofia Carson Falls in Love With a Marine in Netflix’s “Purple Hearts”

The trailer for the latest Netflix original, “Purple Hearts,” dropped on July 12, and it features a song from the soundtrack performed and cowritten by Sofia Carson. The heartwarming drama features Carson, who plays an aspiring singer-songwriter named Cassie, and Nicholas Galitzine, who stars as a troubled marine named Luke. The film kicks off with the two agreeing to marry solely for the health benefits the military provides. However, when Luke becomes injured in combat, the pair’s pretend relationship gets a little more complicated.

One of the highlights of the upcoming movie will definitely be the soundtrack, which is set to come out on July 29. However, the original song that debuted in the trailer, titled “Come Back Home,” is already available to stream. This is a major step forward for Carson, who is starting to shed her Disney past and move towards more mature roles. This project definitely seems to highlight her talents as an actor, a songwriter, and a vocalist. “Be still my Purple Heart💜” she wrote on her Instagram. “Come Back Home, one of the first songs I wrote for our film, is out NOW.” Check out the film’s trailer and stay tuned for the full soundtrack to drop.
