Ben Affleck reportedly got emotional while addressing his new wife, Jennifer Lopez, during his wedding speech.
The actor, 50, married the singer and actress, 53, in a lavish ceremony on his estate in Georgia over the weekend – a wedding that was almost 20 years in the making.
The couple first started dating in 2002 before splitting in 2004 when they ended their engagement, and Affleck reportedly referenced this breakup in his speech at the reception.

“Ben made an impassioned speech professing his love for Jennifer and her kids and said the children are the blessing and gift that happened because they didn’t get married before and that is proof that everything happens for a reason,” a source told Us Weekly.
After calling off their engagement in 2004, Lopez went on to marry and welcome twins – Emme and Max, now 14 – with her now ex-husband Marc Anthony. They split in 2011 and their divorce was finalised in 2014.

As for Affleck, he married Jennifer Garner in 2005 and they welcomed daughters Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 13 and son Samuel, 10, during their 10-year marriage. They were officially divorced in 2018.
Last year, following Lopez’s split from retired baseball player Alex Rodriguez, she reconnected with Affleck and within months they were engaged.

“Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed,” she revealed in her newsletter back in April. “I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time.”
They pair then married in a Las Vegas chapel in July with their children as witnesses.
The couple vowed to host a celebration for family in friends in the weeks after their secret wedding – and they did just that this past weekend, tying the knot in front of 135 of their closest friends and family.
“It was a weekend full of festivities for friends and family and it felt like a fairytale,” the source told Us Weekly. “Jennifer looked like a princess and was flawless. Everyone had an amazing time and danced the night away.
“It was very intimate and all about celebrating their love for one another and their family.”
