Comedian Raju Srivastav passes away at the age of 58 in Delhi

The nation mourns the death of Raju Srivastav who passed away earlier today. The 58 year-old comedian’s family has confirmed the news of his passing. The veteran comedian was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on August 10. He experienced acute chest pain after collapsing while he was working out at a gym. The gym trainer rushed him to a hospital where he was immediately given CPR. He underwent an angioplasty the same day.

Due to his deteriorating condition, he was put on a ventilator but regained consciousness on September 1. He breathed his last today, September 21.

He was best known for his comedic performances in movies like Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya, Baazigar, and Bombay to Goa among others. He catapulted to fame after he took part in the reality stand-up comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005.
