Adam Levine Drops the Video For His First Spanish-Language Song With Maluma, “Ojalá”

We finally know what Maluma and Adam Levine were working on this past summer. Back in June, Maluma, 28, shared a black-and-white Instagram photo of him and Levine in the studio, and on Oct. 20, they dropped a Rudeboyz-produced collaboration titled “Ojalá,” complete with a music video.

“We are initiating a new chapter of our career as producers-artists alongside Maluma and Adam Levine. ‘Ojalá’ is a romantic and danceable record where we joined forces with Maluma to continue his incredible musical legacy accompanied by Adam Levine who sings in Spanish for the first time,” The Rudeboyz said in a statement to POPSUGAR about their debut record.

Maluma added, “My colleagues and friends Kevin and Chan [The Rudeboyz] are amazingly talented. They have grown in the music industry alongside me, collaborating together for over 10 years; and it makes me very happy to be part of this their first single as artists and alongside the great Adam Levine.”

In the song, Levine sings in Spanish, “Ojalá que cuando él te lo haga, pienses en mi / Ojalá que sea mi nombre que quieras repetir,” which translates to “Hopefully, when he does it to you, you think of me / Hopefully, it’s my name that you want to repeat” in English. The visual features a sexy performance by Maluma and a shirtless Levine in the middle of a parking lot.

The surprise collaboration follows Maluma’s recent single “Junio,” which is his first No. 1 debut on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart in nearly six years. Levine, on the other hand, made headlines last month after Instagram model Sumner Stroh claimed the two had an affair. The allegations surfaced just days after Levine and his wife, Behati Prinsloo, confirmed they’re expecting their third child together.

The 43-year-old Maroon 5 frontman denied the cheating allegations and took responsibility for actions that he said “crossed the line.” In a statement posted on his Instagram Stories on Sept. 20, he wrote: “A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air. I used poor judgement in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life.”

He continued: “My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it. And we will get through it together.”
