Along the way, 32 soccer teams from around the world will compete in the World Cup, and you can watch it all from the comfort of your own home. The FIFA World Cup is set to stream on Peacock, Fubo, and SlingTV, as well as air across the FOX Sports channels and on Telemundo in Spanish. That’s not only good news for soccer fans, it’s good news for music fans, too.

This year’s World Cup is set to feature a star-studded lineup of musicians. While the main attraction will be the soccer stars competing for the prestigious FIFA World Cup, the sporting event also includes performances from some of the biggest names in music from around the world. On Nov. 12, BTS member Jeon Jungkook became the latest artist to join the roster of performers.

According to the official BTS Twitter, the famed K-pop star will take part in the opening ceremony. “Proud to announce that Jung Kook is part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Soundtrack & will perform at the World Cup opening ceremony. Stay tuned!” the tweet read.

In addition to Jungkook, other artists who have been confirmed for the event include Calvin Harris, Diplo, Nora Fatehi, Trinidad Cardona, and Kizz Daniel. In a press release, Diplo explained how excited he is to be part of the World Cup this year. “I’ve been really fortunate to travel all over the world and experience different cultures through music,” he said. “Wherever I am, Jamaica, Spain, England, China, South Africa, etc., football is a social constant. Seeing so many fans from all over the world in one place – the FIFA Fan Festival is just awesome. Really looking forward to it!”

Harris added, “I’m so excited to be playing for football fans from all over the world at this year’s FIFA Fan Festival.”

While Jungkook is set to perform at the opening ceremony, other performances will take place at the FIFA Fan Festival beginning on Nov. 22 with Diplo and extending through Dec. 10 when Harris is set to close out the festival. Additionally, the festival will also include food, local culture, and entertainment that’s sure to keep soccer fans busy in between games.
