Rebel Wilson reveals girlfriend Ramona Agruma’s family hasn’t been as ‘accepting’ of their relationship

Rebel Wilson finally has everything she wants: a loving partner and a baby daughter. But it seems her joy isn’t shared by all, especially her girlfriend Ramona Agruma’s family.

Speaking openly about family and motherhood on the Life Uncut podcast, Wilson, 42, revealed the 38-year-old fashion designer’s family is having a hard time “accepting” their year-long relationship.

“My family has been so amazing. Ramona’s family hasn’t been as accepting. In many respects it’s been a lot harder on her,” she told hosts Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne.

“With her, she’s not in the public eye, it’s much harder on her. It’s so sad to see what happened with her family over it. Hopefully, people will change their attitude about things.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Wilson opened up about her journey to motherhood and how she suffered heartbreak before happiness following the birth of her daughter, Royce.

“I really didn’t think pieces were going to fall in line,” the Pitch Perfect star.

“I tried with one surrogate to have a baby and sadly the embryo miscarried. Luckily I didn’t make it public and then had to say it didn’t work out.”

Wilson did not give up on her dream to have a baby and continued to pursue surrogacy. After her second attempt, she got the “miracle” she had prayed for.

“Then to have a second embryo, to have it implanted and go well. It was amazing,” she recalled. “I really do think it’s a bit of a miracle. I’ve been through quite a bit on the fertility journey, and now I’ve got an instant family.”

“It’s so surreal and so awesome. Little Roycie is so amazing. She’s such an angel and I can’t wait to bring her to Australia.”

Still, Wilson said she felt a disconnect given she did not carry Royce.

“It’s so hard. You’re a little disconnected having the surrogacy and not going through the pregnancy, but that was my best option medically, only having the one embryo,” she said.
