Full list of winners and nominees for the 2023 Oscars

It’s Hollywood‘s biggest night, and only a select few can walk away from the 2023 Oscars having secured the global entertainment industry’s highest honour.

Australians are also having their moment under the spotlight on the world stage, with Baz Luhrmann‘s Elvis being nominated alongside nine other films in the Best Picture category, though the 60-year-old multi-hyphenate was notably snubbed from the Best Director category.

Cate Blanchett, meanwhile, has nabbed her eighth Oscar nomination thanks to her work in Tár, being nominated under the Best Actress category for playing the conductor of a Berlin orchestra whose life unravels amid personal and professional chaos.

If the 53-year-old takes home the statuette, it will be her third win, and she’ll equal Meryl Streep, who holds the title for most Oscar-nominated actress ever, with an impressive 21 nods.

Only one other actress has more Oscar wins to her name than the pair and that’s Katharine Hepburn, who won four trophies from 12 nominations.

Blanchett is, however, up against Everything Everywhere All at Once‘s Michelle Yeoh, who notably is the first Asian woman to have been nominated in the Best Actress category in 85 years. When Yeoh took out the SAG Award for Best Actress in February over Blanchett, she made history as the first Asian woman to win the award – ever.
