Ayan Mukerji announced that his film Brahmastra Part Two: Dev and Brahmastra Part Three will be released in December 2026 and 2027 respectively. He also revealed that he is currently working on a special project. On Tuesday, it was reported that the filmmaker will direct the War’s sequel.
War was released in 2019 and starred Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in lead roles. The film was directed by Siddharth Anand.
Now, as reported by a leading news organisation, an insider close to Ayan Mukerji said that after the release of War, Sidharth Anand got busy with Pathaan which took more than three years to complete. And now, Sid is busy with the shooting of Fighter which features Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. Aditya Chopra who is the producer of the film wants to start working on War 2 the soonest.
It’s said it was Aditya Chopra’s close friend Karan Johar who suggested that Ayan Mukerji should direct War 2.
The insider also stated that the plan is that Ayan will first helm Brahmastra 2 and 3 simultaneously for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. He will simultaneously work on the pre-production of War 2, which he will begin directing only after Brahmastra sequels are completed.
