Farhan Akhtars Bambai Meri Jaan to premiere on September 14

The makers of Bambai Meri Jaan have finally set a global premiere date for the crime thriller series. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Kassim Jagmagia and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Media and Entertainment. The series is created by Rensil D’Silva and Shujaat Saudagar, who also serves as the director of the series.

The 10-episode series is based on a story by S. Hussain Zaidi and is based in India after gaining independence and tells the story of a young man who is struggling to choose between following his father’s footsteps in law enforcement or indulging in organised crime.

This crime thriller boasts a talented and versatile cast that includes Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, and Amyra Dastur in important roles.

Talking about the series, Ritesh Sidhwani said, “Set in the post-independence era, Bambai Meri Jaan chronicles the birth of the underworld in Mumbai set against the backdrop of a free nation. Viewers will witness a gripping gangster thriller, exploring the classic, universal battle of good versus evil. We are truly delighted to be working with Prime Video yet again to bring another thought-provoking series to our viewers around the world.”

Meanwhile, director Shujaat Saudagar added, “Bambai Meri Jaan deals with the complexity of nature vs nurture. Thematically, stories which relate to dysfunctional relationships have always attracted me to tell a cinematic narrative. Bambai Meri Jaan weaves the saga of a family inhabiting and growing through their trials and tribulations alongside burgeoning post independent Mumbai. We can’t wait to see viewers’ reactions to the series that is so close to our hearts.”

Bambai Meri Jaan is all set to premiere on September 14 on OTT.
