Hugh Jackman found himself in a spot of trouble while visiting New York’s Rockefeller Center to see its famous Christmas tree.
The Aussie actor, 55, admits he “may have pushed it too far” as he was approached by the centre’s security guard, who let him off with a warning.

Jackman had passed the barriers to get closer to the iconic tree, revealing this caught the attention of the security guard on duty at the time.

“I highly recommend getting up really early on Christmas morning and taking a walk to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree,” the actor posted on Instagram.
“It’s so beautiful and not crowded at all. I did get in trouble for going beyond the barrier but the security guard was nice and let me go with just a warning.”
Jackman also posted about the moment on X, formerly Twitter, adding, “You can get up pretty close. I may have pushed it too far because a security guard came to stop me.”

Viewers took to the comment section of his Instagram post to share their thoughts, with one joking, “Does the security guard not know you are Wolverine? Does he not know what you are capable of?”

This Christmas marks the first in 27 years that Jackman is single, following his split from ex-wife Deborra-lee Furness.
The pair announced they were going their separate ways in September via a joint statement to PEOPLE.
“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” the couple said in the statement.

“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness,” the statement added.
“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
The couple’s adopted children, son Oscar, 23, and daughter Ava, 18 were not seen to have been spending Christmas with their father.

Jackman spent Christmas Eve with a longtime friend, Pat Schoenfeld, who is the widow of Broadway theatre owner and producer Gerald Schoenfeld.
They had all been friends since before Gerald’s passing in 2008.
