Kid Cudi cancels world tour after breaking his foot during Coachella performance

Rapper Kid Cudi has cancelled his upcoming tour after he broke his foot performing at Coachella.

The Insano: Engage The Rage World Tour was set to kick off in Austin, Texas, on June 28.

However the Pursuit of Happiness artist shared early Thursday morning that his injuries were worse than originally thought.

He revealed in an Instagram post that he had broken his calcaneus, a large bone that forms the heel and is attached to the Achilles tendon.

“I’m headed to surgery now and there’s gonna be a long recovery time. We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all,” he wrote in his statement.

Cudi, who’s real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, explained to his fans that there is simply “no way” he could heal in time to give them 100 per cent by June 28.

“We will be back with new tour dates as soon as possible, and I can’t wait to get back out there with you guys and turn up how we do,” he continued. “I’m so sorry fam and I love you all so much, thanks for the endless support.”

Cudi shared how disappointed he was about the announcement, promising to be back as soon as possible.

“I’m ok, just a lil soreness, but I’m in good spirits,” he wrote.

The rapper broke his foot during his performance at Coachella weekend two, when he jumped off the stage to party with fans in the crowd.

He landed awkwardly and had to end his set early as he was carried out by security, he later shared a post on Instagram to let fans know he was OK.

“All smiles like a G. No pain coulda stopped me from feelin the joy I felt from the show,” Cudi wrote alongside a picture of him in the ambulance.

Cudi has said that all fans who had tickets to the Insano: Engage The Rage World Tour would soon receive refunds and has not yet set any replacement dates.
