‘The coolest’: Chris Hemsworth reveals he named one of his twin sons after Brad Pitt

Chris Hemsworth has revealed that he named one of his twin sons after one of Brad Pitt’s most iconic characters.

The Aussie actor, 40, who shares three children with his Spanish actress wife Elsa Pataky, told Vanity Fair that they named son Tristan after Pitt’s character Tristan Ludlow in hit ’90s film Legends of the Fall.

“There’s never been a more beautiful man onscreen,” Hemsworth said.

He said the couple watched the iconic film when Pataky was pregnant with the twins, Tristan and Sasha, when he turned to her and said they should name one of their sons that.

“Is this not the coolest character in the world?” Hemsworth told his wife.

“I think one of our kids needs to be named Tristan.”

According to Vanity Fair, Sasha was named after a stuntman friend and daughter India was named after Indiana Jones.

The former Neighbours star’s children have been eager to follow in their dad’s footsteps, getting in front of the camera whenever they can, including while on the set of his film Extraction 2.

“My kids love it, my kids love it,” the actor told People. “My kids were there on set a lot to see this stuff. And they wanted to jump in front of the camera and participate.”

The family are based at a mansion in the idyllic Byron Bay.

The family has lived in the idyllic New South Wales coastal town since 2015 where Hemsworth revealed he has been recently “enjoying downtime” surfing and hanging out with his kids.

Hemsworth and Pataky met and married 14 years ago, with Hemsworth revealing to Elle in 2015 that it was love at first sight.

“From the first time we met, we just made sense. She’s fun. She’s outgoing, and she has a sense of humour and a passionate attitude toward life, which is nice to try to keep up with,” he told the publication.
