Pauly Shore has once again addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding his involvement in a planned biopic about Richard Simmons.
Despite Simmons’ disapproval, Shore is determined to portray the popular fitness guru in the film.
“I’m also gonna be starring in the Richard Simmons biopic … whether he likes it or not, Richard,” the Encino Man actor said during his Netflix Is a Joke show in Los Angeles, per Variety.

In response, Shore posted a screenshot of Simmons’ tweet expressing that it had him “up all night crying”.
He continued to plead with Simmons to get on board with the film.
He wrote: “Richard, you haven’t even heard the pitch. Why don’t you simply let me come over to your house, bring you some warm matzo ball soup and a pastrami sandwich with dark mustard from Canters, rub your feet, and we can listen to the writer, Jordan Allen-Dutton, pitch you our idea?”

While pleading for Simmons’ approval he also noted that many biopics are made without the subjects permission.
”But as you know, many biopics are made without the subject agreeing to be part of it: Elvis, Stephen Hawking, Marilyn Monroe, Steve Jobs and many, many more.”
Invested fans on social media have expressed their opinions on the matter.
Some are pleading with Simmons to get on board with the biopic.
