Robbie Williams‘ wife Ayda Field Williams has shared some “shocking and difficult” family news.
In an emotional post coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the American actress revealed her mother’s cancer has returned.
“As many of you might know, my mother, Gwen, is my very best friend. What you may not know, is that my best friend is currently fighting for her life,” the lengthy message began.

“A couple of months ago, my mother, a breast cancer survivor (and thriver) was given the news that her cervical cancer had come back and metastasised.”
The joined Instagram post was shared by her mother and husband.
Ayda said the diagnosis was “shocking and difficult for us all to privately process.”
“She’s cried. I’ve cried. We’ve all cried together. There have been many moments of deep sadness. And yet, also moments of profound beauty and joy, in very unexpected ways.”

The star praised her “warrior mummy” amid her health battle remarking what she “has lost in hair and weight, she has more than gained in strength and bravery.”
“And I have deep gratitude, that in this moment right now, she is here to fight another day.”

She concluded her statement by standing in solidarity with those affected by cancer.
To raise funds for breast cancer research, the actress shared her activewear brand has launched a sock pack with all profits going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Ayda accompanied her post with pictures of her mother receiving treatment.
On one slide she included a sweet photo of her husband Robbie Williams with her mum.
Ayda has been married to the English singer and former Take That front man since 2010.

They first met in 2006 and got engaged in 2009. At the time they were introduced, Ayda was known for her role on the soap opera series Days of Our Lives.
The pair have been married for 14 years and share four children together.
The heartbreaking family update comes just weeks after the pair shared the heartbreaking news they recently lost their two pet dogs.
