Fans around the world are shattered by reports former One Direction star Liam Payne has died aged 31 after falling off a balcony at his hotel in Argentina.
Many have flocked to the star’s Instagram account to pay tribute to the former boybander.
In May this year, he uploaded a photo to Instagram of his former group along with the man that helped them bring their story to the big screen, director Morgan Spurlock, following his death aged 53.

The stars and director – who is also known for his famous documentary Super Size Me – were pictured at the premiere of their 2013 documentary film One Direction: This Is Us.
The 3D documentary concert film followed the group on their Take Me Home Tour. The film was a commercial success, earning $US68 million (approx. $102 million) worldwide.

“Rest in peace Morgan Spurlock it was a pleasure working with you ❤️” Payne had written five months ago.
Now, fans are writing the same thing in his comments about him.
“Please tell me this is a joke. You’re amazing dude rest easy,” said one stunned fan.

“Rest in peace, Liam. You were a huge part of so many’s childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Thank you for sharing your talents with us during the short time you had on Earth. We will never forget you,” added another.
“I’m so so sorry. I pray that you’re resting peacefully. So heartbroken,” wrote singer Thomas Day.
The former One Direction star died after falling from the third floor of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to state police, as reported by CNN.
