The day has finally come – it’s the first awards show of the 2025 season.
The Golden Globes red carpet is set to kick off in moments, with a raft of Aussie heavyweights up for some big awards.
Nicole Kidman, Guy Pearce, Cate Blanchett and Naomi Watts have all received nods alongside fellow superstars Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Angelina Jolie, Daniel Craig, Denzel Washington, Ariana Grande, Glen Powell and Selena Gomez.

Yep, it’s set to be a star-studded occasion, with comedian and TV host Nikki Glaser as its host.
And we can expect a very different monologue.
Glaser, who is the first solo female to host the ceremony, told Yahoo she is “not gonna go so hard that anyone’s gonna be offended”.
“I’ve made a point not to, and that’s not to disappoint anyone who’s hoping I’m going to pull a Ricky Gervais. I’m not Ricky Gervais,” she said.
“This isn’t my last Golden Globes, this is my first one. He really went hard on his last one. He was ready to burn some bridges [because] it didn’t matter anymore.”

Surprise red carpet arrivals make fans do a double take
Everyone was forced to do a double-take when two unlikely A-list actors seemed to arrive on the red carpet together.
Though it looked like Glen Powell and Timothee Chalamet, of Twisters and Dune fame, at first, a closer inspection revealed these two men were actually just lookalikes.
Well, that and the signs they were carrying.
Max Braunstein and Miles Mitchell, who won viral Powell and Chalamet lookalike contests, arrived carrying matching signs that read “I won a lookalike contest and now I’m at the Golden Globes.”
The duo looked thrilled to be at the event, beaming at photographers as they walked the carpet with Hollywood icons.
It appears they were invited to attend by CBS, as they tagged the media outlet in several social media posts about the big night including the video below.

The stars are getting ready
While some guests have already started walking the red carpet (you can see what they’re wearing here), other A-list attendees are only just getting ready.
Kate Hudson, best known for her romcoms like How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, shared a selfie on Instagram as her glam team worked on her hair and makeup ahead of the ceremony.
“Excited for tonight! See you soon @goldenglobes,” she captioned the snap.
The actress revealed she’d be rocking a chic updo and soft, glowy makeup look for the big night but covered any hints at her outfit with a fluffy white robe.
Fran Drescher also posted to Instagram as she prepared to walk the red carpet, sharing a post and story as she hopped in the car to make her way to the ceremony.
Showing off the top of her black Dolce & Gabbana gown, which she paired with an updo and striking red lip, she wrote to her 1.5 million followers: “Off we goooo!!!”
In another post she penned, “Off to the Golden Globes! All Dolce & Gabbana all the time! Ty A-Team. You did it again!”
Guess who’s coming…
We’ve received a first glance at inside the ceremony, thanks to the Golden Globes which has just given us a sneak peek into the seating plan.
And with one simple video they have revealed one of the most notoriously private couples will be making their grand arrival together.
Preparing for the big night
One night before the ceremony, nominee Nicole Kidman attended a lavish event with one of her biggest supporters: lookalike daughter Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban.
The mother-daughter duo posed together and rubbed shoulders with A-listers at the W Magazine Annual Best Performances Party, hosted at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, where Kidman was honoured with a huge black-and-white portrait on one wall.
Sunday Rose wowed in an embroidered crop and shorts set in baby blue, topped off with a black blazer. Her mum wore a menswear inspired look in muted tones.
Kidman, 57, is nominated for the Golden Globe for best female actor in a motion picture drama for Babygirl.
Stay on for all the moments as they happen.
