The release was stalled due to a Delhi HC order regarding a plea filed by a film production company. The recent update is that the movie has overcome the legal battle and is set for release. The film’s director SU Arun Kumar has apologised for the delay but confirmed that the issues have been sorted. The issues began when a film production company alleged that the movie’s digital rights would be sold before the release. The release date announcement was made before the OTT rights were sold.

The makers were also earlier ordered by HC to deposit Rs 7 crores. They were asked to furnish the necessary documents within 48 hours and push the release date by a month. However, the recent update states that the film has been successfully released.

The movie’s morning and afternoon shows were cancelled which disappointed Vikram’s fans and ardent movie lovers. The shows in the USA were also cancelled.

While speaking to the press in Kochi, Vikram had addressed the movie’s clash with L2: Empuraan. He shared his excitement while wishing luck to the Empuraan team. He also hoped for Empuraan to become the first true pan-Indian blockbuster from Malayalam cinema. He praised Prithviraj Sukumaran, who directed and starred in the movie. He revealed that his wife is a massive fan of Mohanlal. He further added, “I am a huge fan of Lalettan, but my wife is a bigger fan than me. Whatever I do, and even if I do something very nice, she will say Mohanlal does it better. I asked her which film she would watch first (Veera Dheera Sooran or L2: Empuraan), and she said she would watch both.”
