Country music star Luke Bryan has spoken candidly about his sister’s sudden death back in 2007.
The 49-year-old opened up about the “misinformation” out there after Kelly’s sudden passing at age 39 and admitted that he never explained what really happened.
He shared his story during a chat with Anderson Cooper on the CNN Podcast All There Is with Anderson Cooper, and admitted people have gone as far as speculating that the family covered up what really happened.
“There’s some misinformation out there on the internet, and I think some people kind of like, wonder what happened and think that we’ve tried to cover it up,” he began.
Bryan explained there are a “very very small percentage of people that die for no reason in the world,” which is what happened to his sister.
“It’s called sudden death syndrome and that’s essentially what they described my sister’s death as,” he said.
Bryan recalled that his sister was doing laundry when she died, and said it was like “somebody just turned the switch off on her.”
“It was just tragic beyond words,” he said.

The mum-of-three’s sudden death left the family with so many “unanswered questions” and concerns for her kids.
“We wanted to know, could there be a family history of something that her children might have or may have? Your typical findings of an autopsy of someone 39 would be an aneurysm or an embolism or a blood clot of some kind and everything was inconclusive,” he explained.
Bryan said there was a “pretty severe” orbital bone injury at the time of her death, which may have been due to fainting and hitting the floor, but they just don’t know.
“I just think I think if someone could have been there, maybe, maybe her chances of surviving would have been — they would have been a lot better,” the singer added.

The country star said it had been hard to process that she was gone.
“She was a mother of three children and she was, I mean, the best mother you could ever dream of,” he said.
“And we all leaned on her for so many things and it’s hard to really wrap your brain around her being gone.”
But family tragedy struck again in 2014, when Kelly’s widower, Ben Cheshire died.
At the time Bryan and his wife Caroline stepped up and decided to take in their three children, son Til and daughters Jordan and Kris.
The couple also have two of their own kids, Thomas “Bo” Boyer Bryan, 17, and Tatum “Tate” Christopher Bryan, 15.
