Pop star Tate McRae responds to lip-syncing accusations after awkward on-stage mishap goes viral

Tate McRae is defending herself after accusations that she faked a recent performance on her Little Miss Possessive tour.

The star was accused of lip-syncing after a video of an on-stage microphone mishap at her Austin, Texas show went viral on TikTok.

In the clip, the Sports Car singer, 22, began singing her song 2 Hands into her microphone after wrapping up a dance break but the microphone was upside down.

She quickly realised and fixed her mistake but a track of the song’s lyrics played even when she was singing into the wrong end of the microphone.

The awkward moment lead many fans to believe that the singer was lip-syncing, with some questioning whether she always lip syncs during her shows.

Other fans, however, defended the pop star claiming that the track that played may have simply been a backing track intended for harmonies.

But McRae isn’t having any of it and posted a video to her TikTok account in response to the accusations.
