The court case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard keeps getting more intense as each day passes. The latest news on the case is that Amber Heard’s sister, Whitney Heard Henriquez, testified that she witnessed Johnny Depp hitting her sister. She is the first witness to testify at the five-week civil trial.
Whitney testified that she would often find herself in the middle of fights between Johnny and her sister, both literally and figuratively. She testified that Amber’s relationship with Depp transformed her like “a slow-motion gunshot” as she went through a marriage fueled by drug and alcohol abuse. She became the first witness to testify that Depp hit Heard. During cross-examination, she also admitted that she often did cocaine with Depp and would serve as their de facto marriage counsellor.
Text messages constituted proof that she would joke with Depp about physically abusing Heard, but she said that she regretted it later when she found out the extent of the abuse. Referring to one of the fights when Whitney alleged Depp hit her in the back, she said, “I hear Amber shout, ‘Don’t hit my fucking sister!’ She smacks him — lands one.” She further added that Depp grabbed Heard “by the hair with one hand and was whacking her repeatedly in the face with the other.”

She added that this was the only time she witnessed a violent fight firsthand. However, she mentioned seeing the aftermath of other fights, such as bruises on Heard. Talking about how the marriage physically affected her sister, she also added, “She was so physically unwell.” She added, “She maybe weighed 100 pounds soaking wet. She was emaciated. She wasn’t sleeping. She had developed a heart condition and her eyes were sunken in.”
Johnny Depp has filed a $50 million defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard for an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018. Heard has countersued Depp for $100 million.
