Prithviraj starring Akshay Kumar is mired in two controversies

A day after the Karni Sena demanded a title change for Prithviraj, Akshay Kumar’s mythological next is embroiled in two more controversies.
The Akhil Bharatiya Veer Gurjar Mahasabha appears to have a problem with the depiction of the 12th century warrior king. The organisation stated that Prithviraj was a Gurjar and should be portrayed as such in the film, rather than as a Rajput, or the Mahasabha would not allow its release.

Manish Bhargad, the Rajasthan state president of the Mahasabha, claimed that his organisation met with the film’s producer last year and even brought him historical evidence to correct the facts in his film. He also stated that the producer had assured the Mahasabha that the film would contain no anti-community content.
Concerning Karni Sena’s request, the organisation has asked that the film’s title be changed to include the word ‘Samrat’ before ‘Prithviraj.’ They want the film’s title to be Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. The organisation has stated that it will not allow the film to be released in Rajasthan unless the title is changed.
