Neetu Kapoor says she will begin shooting for her debut OTT show this October

Neetu Kapoor is all set to mark her comeback with the upcoming film Jug Jugg Jeeyo. The veteran actress enjoys a massive fan following, who are very excited to see her in the movie. In a recent interview with the Times of India, the actress discusses her experience about returning to the silver screen, her son Ranbir Kapoor’s reaction and much more.

She was asked how Ranbir Kapoor reacted when she signed Jug Jugg Jeeyo. To this, she said, “Actually it was Ranbir’s idea. When my husband passed away we were all very sad and we didn’t know what was going on. So Karan (Johar) and Ranbir were at my house having dinner, both my children, my daughter and Ranbir were discussing what I was going to do next. And I said ‘I never know’. I never thought that I’ll be doing a movie. Ranbir suggested that I start working again, at that time I didn’t know how it would happen. Karan, who was also present there said that ‘I’m going to dig up a subject for you, main kal aa raha hu”. She revealed further that he came the very next day with a director who read her a script. Neetu liked the script alot and was sure about doing it.

Neetu Kapoor also got candid about how returning to work alleviated the loss of her husband Rishi Kapoor. She said, “It was like applying ointment on my wounds, I felt so nice that I’m doing something. It took my mind off the grief, it felt very nice. A good film came at the right time to help me go through that. I’ll always be very thankful to Karan.”

Getting back to work on the movie sets also became a source of confidence for the actress. She said, “I feel confident again, if I get the chance, I would want to do more. I never thought that I’ll do movies again. My life was my husband and my children, I never thought that if nothing else then this is the best thing to do, to work, to keep yourself occupied.”

Concluding the interview, Neetu Kapoor was asked about her future projects. She said, “So many channels for work have opened up now. There’s Netflix and the other OTT platforms, so I’ll do something. I have a show that I’ll start working for in October.”
