He may have missed his brother Ben Affleck‘s wedding to Jennifer Lopez on the weekend, but Casey Affleck is still elated to have a new sister-in-law.
In a sweet yet cheeky Instagram post, Casey, 47, welcomed Jennifer to the family as he shared a throwback photo of the trio from when Ben and Jennifer first dated in 2002.
“Good things are worth waiting for,” Casey wrote. “Here is to twists and turns, new beginnings, and finding new reservoirs of old love.”

But his message took a playful turn when he warned Lopez about what she married into.
“Welcome to the family. Get ready for some real dysfunction! Kidding. I am kidding,” he added, before once again taking a serious note. “Jen, you are a gem. We love you so much!!! ❤️.”
According to People magazine, Casey was unable to attend Bennifer’s lavish three-day wedding celebration on the weekend as he was in LA with his children: Indiana, 18, and 14-year-old Atticus, who he shares with ex-wife Summer Phoenix.

The source said that “unfortunately because of family, parental obligations at home”, he couldn’t attend. However, while Bennifer were preparing to walk down the aisle at Ben’s sprawling compound just outside of Savannah, Casey was seen at Starbucks in LA with his girlfriend Caylee Cowan.
When a TMZ reporter asked the actor why he’s not in Georgia with his brother and the rest of their friends and family. Affleck’s response? He “fell asleep”.

Another notable absence from the wedding was Jennifer’s best friend, actress Leah Remini.
The King of Queens alum also had her hands full with her 18-year-old daughter, Sofia, who is about to head off to college.
“Leah prioritised family time as she’s missed some valuable moments raising her daughter while she was knee-deep in Scientology,” TMZ reported. “It appears there are no hard feelings.”
