Ever since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios as co-heads, there has been a slew of major updates. After Henry Cavill announced that he won’t be returning as Superman, word is that Ben Affleck who plays Batman in the DCEU could direct an upcoming film.
Director James Gunn recently caught up with Ben Affleck and the idea of the actor directing a DC film came up. Answering a fan’s question on Twitter, Gunn revealed, “Met with Ben yesterday precisely because he wants to direct & we want him to direct; we just have to find the right project.”

Ben Affleck has directed a fair share of films including Argo, Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Live By Night.
Affleck has talked about directing for DC before. In fact, he wanted to work on a standalone Batman movie but didn’t find the right script. The last Batman film was Matt Reeves’ The Batman featuring Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.
Ben Affleck will next be seen in The Flash starring Ezra Miller and in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom alongside Jason Momoa.
