Zac Efron has been taken to hospital following a “minor swimming incident” in Spain.

A rep for Efron told TMZ that The Greatest Showman actor was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure after an incident at a Villa in Ibiza on Friday night.

They added that he was discharged from the hospital on Saturday morning and has been recovering just fine.

The outlet later reported that Efron was found in the swimming pool and pulled out of the water by two people who worked at the villa, citing sources “with direct knowledge” of the incident.

It’s not the first time The Iron Claw actor has found himself rushed to the hospital, telling Entertainment Tonight in 2022 that he “almost died” after an incident in 2013.

Efron told the outlet of the incident at the Toronto International Film Festival during his press tour for The Greatest Beer Run Ever, putting the plastic surgery rumours to rest when he revealed that he shattered his jaw.

“My mom told me. I don’t really read the internet, so, I don’t really give a f—,” he said of the rumours that he had intentionally altered his face with plastic surgery.

He went on to explain that in 2013 he had slipped in a puddle of water near the entrance of his house and shattered his jaw.

Efron was then taken to the hospital and had to have his jaw wired shut. He also sustained a gash that required stitches.

“It was funny,” he said of the rumours sparked by the incident. “It sucks. I almost died, but we’re good.”
