DJ Danny Stubbs has died aged 40 after battling a rare and inoperable cancer.
The BBC radio star and music producer was diagnosed with Stage 4 oesophageal adenocarcinoma in August 2023.
His wife Danielle told StokeonTrentLive, “the last few months have been incredibly hard, but he was so strong.”

Danielle, who married Danny in November 2023, said “loving him was an honour” in the tribute.
“His attitude from the beginning was incredible. He didn’t want to listen to the prognosis, and he wanted to prove to the doctors that they were wrong,” she recalled.
“I know he was fighting to be with me.”

Danielle first announced her husband’s death on his Instagram account.
She admitted it’s “hard to even think about the future, because it’s not the life that we imagined,” adding she wants to “keep making him proud”.
She added she was heartbroken for Danny’s daughter Leah and the rest of his family.
“Danny was the most beautiful person inside and out. He had a sparkle in his eyes and a smile that would light up a room,” she recalled of her late husband.

Danny died at St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford on August 24 a year on from his diagnosis. The DJ’s cancer had spread to his lymph nodes and bones in his spine.
Danny married his partner Danielle in November – just a couple of months after his diagnosis.
“Yesterday I got to marry the love of my life & the most innocent, kind, forgiving and thoughtful person I could ever wish to meet,” he said, announcing the news on Instagram.
