Ronan Keating has surprised fans by inviting a special guest to perform with him during an Oaks Day lunch.
Robbie Dolan, the jockey who won the 2024 Melbourne Cup, joined Keating on stage to perform his hit song When You Say Nothing At All.
While some fans were surprised to see the jockey take to the stage, trophy in one hand and microphone in the other, others recognised him from his reality TV appearance a few years back.

Back in 2022, Dolan managed to turn three chairs with his audition on The Voice, performing a near flawless rendition of James Bay’s Let It Go.
He joined coach Rita Ora’s team and made it into the top 24, before being eliminated in the sing-offs.
So, it’s no wonder that Keating invited his fellow Irishman to join him on stage to celebrate his win.

But while there’s no hiding the fact that Dolan can put on a performance with a microphone in hand, holding the reigns is where his true passions lie.
Dolan’s efforts during Tuesday’s race have been described by past winners such as James McDonald as “one of the best rides I’ve ever seen.”

Racing is in the 28-year-old’s blood. His father was a jockey and grandfather were both jockeys, and his mother also rode.
”This is the biggest race in the world, and to win it is just incredible,” Dolan told The Age following his win on Tuesday, adding that it was a real “pinch me” moment.
“I’ve got my family here, my partner Christine, our little baby Maisie. My dad flew over from Ireland, and now you got me in tears.”
