Robin Thicke and April Love Geary have been together since 2014. The pair have been engaged since 2018, share three kids together and, through it all, have been able to keep their relationship fresh.
Their secret is simple: the couple starts anew each morning.
“Start again every day. Just start fresh every day with, ‘I love you, you love me. Let’s just keep on rocking,’” Thicke, 47, exclusively told Us Weekly at the 23rd Annual Christmas at The Grove Tree Lighting Celebration. “We’ve always got these little details in a relationship that can get on our nerves, but when you really love somebody and you’re there for them and you want to spend your life with them, you just want to wake up in a fresh start.”
Thicke and Geary share daughters Mia, 6, and Lola, 5, as well as son Luca, 3. Thicke also shares son Julian, 14, with ex-wife Paula Patton.
Robin Thicke and April Love Geary’s Relationship Through the Years
The pair’s blended family will be together for the holidays, and Thicke says he expects it to be filled with, “lots of joy and laughter and music and dancing and crayons and toy cars and hot wheels and everything that the holidays are supposed to have.”
The “Sweetest Love” singer has spent the last few years focusing on his family and being a judge on Fox’s The Masked Singer. He’s ready to return to music, however, and plans to release his ninth studio album on Valentine’s Day 2025.
He teased the album in October with a post via Instagram, which he captioned, “Album mode, new music coming soon.” The accompanying picture was a black-and-white photo of himself on stage, mic in hand.
It will be his first album since February 2021, when he released On Earth, and in Heaven. He released his first single in two years, “Hotel,” earlier in 2024.
Robin Thicke Isn’t Pushing Son Julian, 14, to Follow His Musical Footsteps
“We’re hoping for Valentine’s Week. We’re very excited about the album,” Thicke said. “I’ve been working on [it for] the last two years. And the reason we’re thinking Valentine’s Week is because obviously it’s very romantic, it’s very sensual. It’s about love, it’s about inner reflections and spirituality.”
Thicke also teased fans with his own enthusiasm for the upcoming project.
“As an artist, you’re always like, ‘Oh, do I need one more painting for this gallery?’” he said. “But I’m very excited. I feel like this is some of the best stuff I’ve made in years because I had the space and the time to make it.”
