Sreeleela has been enjoying the status of being the it girl in the tinsel town. While she already worked with top stars in Tollywood, the actress is set to make her Hindi debut opposite Kartik Aryan in the romantic drama. Initially tipped to be the third installment of Aashiqui, the film is still untitled. Directed by Anurag Basu, the photos of the onscreen chemistry between Sreeleela and Kartik have already been raved about. This generated great hype for the film.
Interim, Sreeleela reportedly bagged another happening project in Hindi. The actress has been cast in the sequel to Pati Patni Aur Woh (PPAW). Apparently, her name has been finalized as the leading lady…but it looks like her excitement could be short-lived – here’s a twist in the tale. Rumours are rife that Sreeleela has been replaced with Rasha Thadani (daughter of Raveena Tandon). The development reportedly shocked many insiders in the unit. Since Sreeleela and Kartik are already sharing screen together in the romantic drama, the makers of the sequel to Pati Patni Aur Woh felt they needed a fresh pair who can give a different spin to their narrative. They wanted the lead pair to give a new vibe to the cast, and hence were keen to cast Rasha.
Rasha Thadani made her acting debut with Azaad, alongside Ajay Devgn and his nephew Aaman Devgan. When the Abhishek Kapoor directorial arrived on the digital platform, the actress won hearts for her honest performance. Moreover, the song Uyi Amma from the film became a viral sensation and has been viewed millions of times on YouTube.
Meanwhile, Sreeleela’s dry spell and long wait for a blockbuster at the box office continues. Her recent films at the ticket window have not performed and lived up to the expectations. Her latest Telugu release Robinhood tanked without trace, adding more misery to her long list of failures. The special song Kissik from Pushpa 2 The Rule was the only respite for her in recent times.
