Priyadarshi says Sarangapani Jatakam is a rooted story thatâll resonate with wider audiences

After the super success of Court – State vs a Nobody, Priyadarshi’s career has been on a high! The actor is all geared to impress the audiences with his upcoming Telugu film Sarangapani Jatakam. Directed by Mohana Krishna Indraganti, the film, which is produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad, is slated for release on April 25. Priyadarshi believes that Sarangapani Jatakam is the right follow up after the courtroom drama. “I play a young man who strongly believes in horoscopes. Sarangapani… is a film where the protagonist believes in horoscopes. I believe… but only to a certain extent. You cannot control anything in this industry. We only try to make a good cinema, but the result is not in our hands,” shares the actor.

The actor says that the film doesn’t convey any message whether one should believe or shouldn’t believe in horoscopes. “We are only chronicling a story of what happens when someone imposes their beliefs on others,” clarifies Priyadarshi, adding that they haven’t taken sides in the story. He believes characters that are rooted where common man can connect reach a wider audience. Citing the examples of his earlier hit films like Mallesham, Balagam and Court, the actor says that the journeys of the protagonist are often painful. He said, “But the emotional arc resonated and struck a chord with the audiences. They love stories of the common man. In films like ‘Lucky Bhaskar’ and ‘Pushpa’, the protagonist is a common man who rises.” For someone who started the journey with comic roles, shouldering a film is very challenging. But Priyadarshi says that director Indraganti has put in a lot of hard work for the film. He added, “I just followed his instructions and there was no pressure.” Interestingly, before entering the industry, Priyadarshi checked his horoscope.  “Astrologers said that I would never become an actor.  But I didn’t bother, I came into the industry with faith in myself and hard work,” he comments.
