Diljit Dosanjh is all set for a disruptive debut at the MET Gala 2025. It won’t be just another red-carpet appearance as we are getting to know that Diljit will also be joining the ultra-exclusive inner circle seated at Anna Wintour’s private dinner. And he will be sitting next to Shakira and Nicole Scherzinger.
This rare honour not only celebrates Diljit’s global rise but also signals a broader cultural shift at the MET Gala—one that’s finally embracing South Asian talent with the spotlight it deserves.
This year’s theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, pays homage to Black dandyism and the profound impact of Black men on fashion throughout history. Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, will serve as one of the co-chairs for the event, alongside Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James as the honorary chair.
Meanwhile, Diljit’s look for the MET Gala is being designed by Prabal Gurung. Earlier in the day, he shared a video flaunting his MET Gala invitation card and joked that no one should send him wedding invites anymore, as he now has something bigger. He also spoke about this year’s theme and said he will be seated alongside international stars like LeBron James and ASAP Rocky.
One part of the video that stood out was when Diljit humorously noted that photography is not allowed at the event. “Can’t even make reels,” he said in Punjabi, making fans laugh. He also compared the invite system to Indian weddings by saying it’s “per person, per plate,” referring to how entry is managed at the event. Besides Diljit, Shah Rukh Khan and Kiara Advani will also be making their MET Gala debuts this year. SRK’s look will be designed by none other than legendary director Sabyasachi. Today, he shared a post that read, ‘KING KHAN’ and ‘Bengal Tiger’. This made netizens speculate that his look might have some connection to the Bengal Tiger. Meanwhile, Kiara’s look has been designed by Gaurav Gupta.
