The Engagement Backstory

While on The Graham Norton Show, Swift gushed about how her fiancé knocked it out of the park with the floral proposal.

“He really crushed it in surprising me. While we were talking on his podcast, he had a complete garden built out the back of his house to propose in,” she recalled. “He went all out — 10 out of 10.”

In a separate interview with the U.K.’s Heart radio station, Swift shared that she was impressed that Kelce used a jeweler she mentioned to him “a year and a half ago” in passing.

“When I saw the ring, I was just, like, [gasping],” she quipped on Friday. “I was like, ‘I know who made that! I know who made that! And also, you listen to me.’ He did amazing, it was like, ‘You really know me.’”

The Biggest Easter Eggs and Fan Theories From Taylor Swift’s ‘Showgirl’

Their Wedding Plans

Swift confessed to multiple outlets that she is focusing on the album release first before she and Kelce organize their nuptials.

“I want to do the album stuff first, and the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning. I think it will be fun to plan,” she shared with Norton.

During her sit-down with BBC Radio 1, Swift teased that she and Kelce are planning a “destination wedding” but didn’t reveal the location.

The Meaning of ‘Opalite’

Kelce previously teased that “Opalite” was his favorite track, and Swift confirmed that’s still the case. She also explained the inspiration behind the song and its relation to Kelce’s October birthstone.

“I had learned that it’s actually a man-made opal,” she said on Friday to the U.K.’s Capital FM radio station. “Opal can be man-made just like diamonds, and so, Travis’ birthstone is an opal. I’ve always fixated on that, [and] I’ve always loved that stone. I thought it was kind of a cool metaphor that, like, it’s a man-made opal and happiness can also be man-made too. That’s what the song is about, the juxtaposition of those two.”

Her Favorite Song

Swift confessed that her favorite track from the album is “Wish List,” which highlights her desire to settle down and have a family.

“It was the song where after we finished it, I was like, ‘Oh, we’re done. Like, we’re good. We’re done with this. This is the final piece.’ It’s a really dreamy song. It’s a really romantic song,” she explained on the U.K.’s Heart Radio. “It details all these different things that people aspire to have in their lives and all the wishes that people are making all over the world.”

While “Wish List” was the last track Swift wrote for The Life of Showgirl, the reason why it’s her favorite lines up with where she is at this time.

“It’s really emotional,” she said of the song. “It’s a very accurate stance on where I’m at in life.”

Cover Art Theory Confirmation

Swift confirmed the fan theory that The Life of a Showgirl album art is an homage to a John Everett Millais painting of Shakespeare’s Ophelia.

“Thank you for appreciating that the album cover is a reference to the famous Ophelia painting, which then ends up being referenced in the music video,” Swift said, teasing the visual for the album’s opening track, “The Fate of Ophelia.”

The musician teased that there will be “more references to this painting” in the music video which premiered in theaters on Friday.

Future Tour Plans

After a hectic schedule with her Eras Tour, Swift shared she has no immediate plans to tour.

“I’m going to be really honest with you, like, I am so tired,” the singer said during a Friday appearance on BBC Radio 1. “When I think about doing it again … because I would want to do it really well, again.”

While Swift is still recovering, she admitted that the tour was “so much fun.”

The Reality About Fan Theories

Some fan theories are close to the truth and others are baseless, according to Swift.

“There are definitely some theories that are based in absolutely nothing close to reality,” she said on Friday during an appearance on Elvis Duran’s iHeartRadio show. “But, you know what? There are some that are so fun when they figure them out.”

Swift confirmed that “if you line up the titles of all the tracks of this album in order … in the center of the frame, the shape of the track list makes the same shape as the Eras Tour stage.”

Her Mom’s Thoughts on ‘Wood’

Swift revealed that her mom, Andrea Swift, didn’t really get “Wood” — and she was OK with that.

“I think that she thinks that that song is about superstitions,” Swift said during a Monday, October 6, appearance on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up. “Which it absolutely is.”

She added, “That’s the joy of the double entendre. That song, you could read that song for people and it just goes right over their head. That song, you see in that song what you wanna see in that song.”

In a separate interview from Monday, Swift offered more details on how the spicy song came to be.

“I had this idea about, ‘I ain’t gotta knock on wood,’ and I would knock on wood and it would be all these superstitions,” she said during her October 6 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “And it really started out in a very innocent place.”

She added, “I don’t know what happened, man. I got in there, we started vibing and I don’t know, I don’t know how we got here. But I love the song so much.”

The Elizabeth Taylor of It All

The late actress’ estate reacted to Swift’s “Elizabeth Taylor” tune.

“They were lovely about it,” she said during an October 6 appearance on Radio 2’s Breakfast Show.

Travis Kelce’s Pre-Proposal Question

“I think, for Travis, the podcast was just sort a distraction, sort of ruse, to keep me not looking out the windows of the house,” she said on The Tonight Show. “Every time he does the podcast, it’s not like he blacks out all the windows.”

This time around, however, there were “blackout drapes on every single window of the whole house.” Swift recalled Kelce getting “nervous” before asking her a question that he knows she’ll always say yes to.

“Do you wanna go and just walk around the backyard and have a glass of wine?” he asked.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show Rumors

“Here’s the thing. Jay-Z has always been very good to me. Our teams are really close,” she said on The Tonight Show. “They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about [mumbles]?’ And that’s not, like, an official offer or a conference room conversation. Our teams are really close. ‘How does she feel about it in general?’ And we’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field.”

Swift noted that she’s “too locked in” on the actual sport to be planning choreography.
