Nikki Glaser will be offering up a her signature zingers when she returns as host of the Golden Globe Awards on January 11 (January 12 in Australia).
But the US comedian has revealed in a new interview there is one star who is likely to escape her barbs.
Glaser is currently testing out jokes she is planning to use in her opening monologue by doing stand-up in Los Angeles, and said anything about award nominee Julia Roberts is falling flat with audience members.
Glaser was doing an interview with Oprah’s bestie Gayle King for CBS Mornings when she made the revelation.
”I’m trying out my monologue around LA at the clubs here and just even any joke about Julia Roberts, they are not there for,” she said.
“You cannot make fun of ‘America’s Sweetheart’.
“So… whatever I end up saying about her, that is the most fine-tuned joke that I’ve worked on so hard, because it is very delicate.

“I mean, they were booing, and I was like, ‘Is she here?’ I mean, it’s insane.”
Glaser, 41, is no stranger to criticism. After all, she is best known for her brutal roasts of celebrities including actor Alec Baldin and former NFL star Tom Brady.
But she also knows hosting the Golden Globe Awards is a tough gig.
In the lead-up to the history-making Golden Globe Awards in 2025, when she became the first woman to host the show solo, she told Jimmy Kimmel on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live that it was a “delicate balance”.
Unlike her famed roasts, celebrities in the crowd were not paying her thousands of dollars to be made fun of.
“I’ll give the audience at home what they want,” she told Kimmel.
“But the audience at home is not gonna laugh if I bomb in the room.”
Last year, Glaser ended up including jokes about Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was convicted of prostitution-related offences, and alleged murderer Luigi Mangione, but steered clear of upsetting celebrities in the room.

She told CBS Mornings she would go for a similar tone this year.
“You have to be very delicate about making jokes that aren’t going to ruin anyone’s night, but you also want to give the people at home, you know, something to laugh at,” she said.
“People at home want you to make fun of the A-listers. They want you to make them feel a little bit uncomfortable.
“So, it’s covert in the sense that I want to get away with those jokes without ruining the vibe in the room.”
She also revealed she would likely pick on “easy” targets.
“It’s easy for me to take down the newer batch of actresses and actors who are younger than me,” she said.
“It’s like, ‘OK, I can make fun of you. I’m a veteran’.”
Which means Roberts, 58, who is nominated for best actress in a motion picture – Drama for After the Hunt, may remain off limits.
