The knife attack on Saif Ali Khan that took place at his Mumbai residence, on January 16, 2025, had already sparked concerns among the people as they were shocked by the entry of an intruder breaking down a high-level residential security. However, several years before, his sister Soha Ali Khan also shared a similar experience at her Mumbai residence. Soha recalled how an intruder had also broken into her residence during early morning, and how bravely Kunal Khemu had fought the robber while she cried in her room.
Meanwhile, in a previous interview with Hauterrfly, Soha Ali Khan revealed that the burglary attempt took place at her Mumbai residence in 2011 when she and Kunal were dating. “My own flat was broken, and burgled 10 years ago, and Kunal caught the thief. So, for my mother, both her children’s flats in Mumbai have been broken into. So, then we feel like, oh, it’s quite close to home, literally. We don’t live in that house anymore, but when I lived there, it was on the first floor,” said Soha Ali Khan in the interview.
The actress further stated that both Kunal and she heard a strange voice from outside. When Kunal went to check, he saw an intruder trying to break into the house. When the intruder realized that he was caught, he tried to escape but lost his balance, and that’s when Kunal caught him, handing him over to the police. Soha also stated that most of these incidents take place early in the morning, because most people are in deep sleep during that time. She also revealed that her house was on the road and hence, quite accessible.
