Madhuri Dixit Gives a Befitting Reply to Those Trolling Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit has quite boldly spoken against the online trolling of Aishwarya Rai, over her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2026. The Bollywood actress called out the harsh culture of constant judgement on social media. She said that while people have always made remarks and constant criticism, earlier there were limited platforms for such opinions, whereas now social media gives everyone an immediate space to comment freely.

Defending her Devdas co-star, Madhuri said that Aishwarya has represented India globally for over two decades at Cannes, and she cannot be reduced to a number on a scale or a number on the dress.

While speaking to PTI, Madhuri Dixit was asked about the judgement and trolling faced by actors Ananya Panday and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and whether the world has become harsher towards celebrities today. She replied, “I feel there were such people earlier too, and there are still such people today who comment. Earlier, they didn’t have a way (platform) to comment, but today they have got that means (platform).”

“Especially Aishwarya, when she went to Cannes, she has a legacy. She has been going there for 20 years. She has made the whole country proud. She is a global star. You cannot reduce her to a number on a scale or a number on the dress or the size or a number on the calendar years. You cannot reduce her to that. She is beautiful. She looks beautiful but she is beautiful inside.

Bollywood actress Triptii Dimri also put forward her opinion on this topic, stating how easy it is for people to comment from the comfort of their homes without understanding the effort and struggle behind public success.

It’s very easy to sit at home comfortably in your pajamas and comment on others. But it’s important to be in their shoes—people who have worked their entire lives to achieve something, whether it is Ananya or Aishwarya ma’am. Both of them have worked very hard in their lives,” she said.
