Steven Spielberg calls SS Rajamoulis RRR outstanding. Says I couldnt believe my eyes

SS Rajamouli caught up with Steven Spielberg at the Golden Globes where the film starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR made history with a Best Song win for Naatu Naatu. Now as the Oscars 2023 buzz around the film continues, the two directors got together for another conversation where the American director shared some more of his thoughts on RRR.

To note, Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans has a whopping seven nominations at the 95th Academy Awards. Meanwhile, RRR has a nomination for Naatu Naatu in the Best Original Song category. Talking about RRR Spielberg said, “I couldn’t believe my eyes…it was like eye candy…it was extraordinary to look at and experience.”

When SS Rajamouli asked Spielberg about his motivation behind making The Fabelmans, which is a semi-autobiographical film, the director said, “It’s a story about love. It’s a story about a young boy, much like myself, named Sammy Fabelman, who falls in love with movie cameras and making movies with his neighbourhood friends, which eventually is going to lead him to a career.”

RRR is one of three Indian films that earned nominations at the Oscars 2023. All That Breathes has been nominated in the Best Documentary category while The Elephant Whisperers has been nominated in the Best Documentary Short category.
