Manchu Vishnuâs Kannappa gets a new release date

The release of Vishnu Manchu’s forthcoming film Kannappa was delayed since the makers wanted to deliver the best product to the audiences. The film’s release date has been announced on Wednesday. Mohan Babu, Vishnu Manchu and Prabhu Deva met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The film unit’s visit was not just a ceremonial gesture but a moment of great encouragement and support for the makers of Kannappa. 

During the meeting, Adityanath extended best wishes to the team – unveiling the release date poster as June 27, 2025. He further expressed confidence in the film’s potential to connect deeply with audiences at the box office across the nation. His good wishes and words of encouragement added a level of honour to the film’s journey.

Talking about the film, Vishnu Manchu says that meeting chief minister Yogi Adityanath was a moment of immense honour for all of us. “As someone who has poured a decade of my life into Kannappa, seeing him resonate with the soul of our film was incredibly moving. He understood that Kannappa isn’t just a story—it’s a cultural resurrection,” the actor said, adding that his words were a reminder of our mythology, our history. He added, ” It is a privilege to have the release date of the film – June 27, unveiled by him.”

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film also features Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal in special appearances. Kajal Aggarwal will portray Goddess Parvati. Kannappa is a groundbreaking Indian film with a unique combination of grand scale, ambition, and a strong story. It is based on the legend of Kannappa (played by Vishnu Manchu), a devotee of the god Shiva.
